The National Strategic Communication and Translation Professionals Training Innovation Forum From a Global Perspective was Successfully Held
On November 19, the National Strategic Communication and Translation Professionals Training Innovation Forum from a global perspective was held in the University's Haifeng International Academic Exchange Center. The forum was co-sponsored by the University and the Translation Technical Committee of Translators Association of China, the Intelligent Translation Laboratory of Translation Institute of China Foreign Language Administration, Shanghai Foreign Languages Society, and Shanghai Society of Science and Technology Translation. It is hoped that the experts attending the meeting can offer suggestions and suggestions for the training of foreign language and translation talents and discipline construction of Maritime University, and jointly promote the high-quality development of foreign language education.Jiang Feng said in his speech that the College of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Maritime University is based on maritime affairs, serving transportation and facing the sea, with distinct disciplinary characteristics. Foreign language discipline should not be narrowly defined as a foreign language major, but should create its own characteristics according to the positioning of the school. The experts focused on translation teaching practice, translation education innovation and language service industry development in the era of artificial intelligence, and had in-depth exchanges and discussions on the importance of technology communication in translation practice, the cultivation of translation technology thinking ability, semantic network and translation quality evaluation, and machine translation in the maritime field. During the forum, Professor Sun Yu, Executive editor of Foreign Languages, Professor Tan Yesheng, editor of Foreign Languages, Professor Zhen Fengchao, deputy editor of Contemporary Foreign Languages Studies, and Professor Zheng Yongyan, co-editor of System, delivered speeches respectively. The experts briefly introduced the manuscript requirements, review process, permanent columns and topic scope of their journals, and exchanged the challenges and countermeasures brought by artificial intelligence machine translation system to translation teaching, translation professional education, language service industry and translation discipline around the theme of translation research innovation. Finally, the experts answered the questions of the teachers and students at the meeting with their rich editing experience and theoretical expertise.The graduate Forum consists of six panels, each with two expert comments. The theme of the forum is (maritime) translation technology practice innovation and language resources construction.
