Xuelong 2 polar research vessel (H2560) is China's first independently built polar scientific research icebreaker, which was delivered in July 2019. Xuelong 2 is the world's first polar scientific research icebreaker with bi-directional bow and transom icebreaking technology, capable of continuous icebreaking navigation in 1.5m thick ice environment, filling the gap of China in the field of major equipment for polar scientific research.
