Lecture Introduction:

The core of academic writing is based on academic inspiration, which comes from reading, accumulation and observation of life, careful listening, diligent thinking and writing, and continuous innovation of research methods. Here, we will find inspiration for academic writing from reading and breakthroughs in research from updating methods. This seminar will discuss the excavation and extension of academic ideas with concrete examples so that we can feel together that academic research is not a mysterious thing, and we can all participate and innovate in academic research.

Chen Xianglan, Professor of University of International Business and Economics, Doctoral Supervisor, Head of Media Cognitive Psychology Laboratory, Director of Institute of Theoretical Linguistics, Executive Director of National Cognitive Linguistics Research Association, Member of National Eye Movement Professional Committee, Member of National Language Psychology Professional Committee, Visiting Professor of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Institute of Fashion, Visiting Professor of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, Visiting Professor of Shanxi Normal University, Southwest University He has been invited to attend and speak at many international academic conferences. He has pioneered the use of eye-movement technology to study metaphors in China and internationally, and promoted the empirical study of Chinese metaphors and metonymy. His research interests include cognitive linguistics, business language eye-movement empirical evidence, rhetoric, grammar, and teaching. He has presided over two National Social Science Foundation projects, two Humanities and Social Science projects of the Ministry of Education, and eight provincial and ministerial projects including Beijing Key Projects. He has published 70 papers in Neuroscience letter, Foreign Language Teaching and Research, and other international and domestic journals. He has published 3 monographs, among which, the monograph Research on Language and High-level Metaphor won the second prize of the National Excellent Scientific Research Achievement in Higher Education.
